Spending a day with prof Wole Soyinka would be the most cherished day of my life; an evergreen experience. Every minute would be meticulously woven into engaging him in intellectual discussions. And over a coffee, we would talk about his enviable academic achievements; including his Nobel prize for literature. It would be a moment that even the demystifying hand of time would be rendered futile; because every word would be cemented in that indelible part of my heart. Then we might delve into the issue of the eroding traditional African literature, and how we can save Africans from being renegades.

I love this piece.. "And how we can save Africans from being renegades" This is what every writer in our African society should be concerned about. We need to encrypt our history in the sands of time..
This is a writing contest not a pageantry contest. The monetary voting system is really unfair to excellent and credible writers who are part of this contest but do not have the financial muscle needed to win this contest. If creative writing was always determined by monetary voting, Soyinka wouldn't have won the Nobel prize for literature!!!
